UbiClass is being developed to help schools prepare meaningful work when the usual teacher is absent. Our CoverReady resources combine clear instructions, worked examples, independent tasks, answers, support and extension work in one organised lesson pack.
Why we are building it
Teacher absence should not mean starting from scratch.
When a teacher is absent, departments still need work that is clear, purposeful and manageable for students and cover staff.
UbiClass helps reduce the last-minute scramble by bringing the key parts of a cover lesson together in one place. The aim is simple: make it easier to prepare work that can be projected, printed and taught with confidence.
Our initial focus is Year 8 Maths, covering number, proportional reasoning and algebra.

UbiClass resources are designed to work in ordinary school conditions, including lessons where the cover supervisor is not a specialist in the subject.
The lesson can be projected from the PowerPoint, supported with printable task pages, and completed through a clear sequence of modelling, guided practice and independent work.
Prepare
Open the lesson pack and review the cover instructions and timings.
Model
Work through the examples and explain the method to students.
Release to independence
Students complete the task route, using the examples and support materials when needed.

We are starting with a focused collection of Year 8 Maths CoverReady resources and will continue developing the platform around the needs of teachers and departments.
